I’m convinced the people saying super mario sunshine is terrible don’t play games other than nintendo because some of the poorly designed stuff isn’t that bad at all compared to the worst of like, any other company’s number one series.

The most BS thing is when two people win a microgame in warioware and one person gets the invincible star and the other person gets a mega mushroom
I think having some characters being unusable like in Melee is better than having some characters being overpowered. Kirby's UP? don't use Kirby, forget he's in, leave your emotional attachment to his games at the door with your emotional attachment to any other game not in Melee, easy. Kazuya's OP? God help you, someone's gonna choose Kazuya anyway, and the internal fandom politics will never allow a ban. I'd rather have 70 Melee Kirbies in an 80 character roster than 1 Brawl Meta Knight.
Probably one of my weirdest takes to the point of arguably being a nitpick, but I hope the next Smash game goes back to having its fighter selection screen organised by franchise/theme as opposed to the order that the character was announced in the series. Doesn't necessarily have to be "the first row is ONLY mario" or anything but even if they took a Brawl-esque approach of certain "columns" having a unifying theme or something I think it'd work pretty well
